Humber’s online application system allows you to submit your interest in employment with the College on our website at www.humber.ca/careers in two ways:
Competitions, or job postings, as they are also known, are typically posted for five business days. Applicants are welcome to submit a cover letter and resume, up to midnight on closing day of a competition.
The first step is to upload your resume. The system will extract information from your resume and complete various data fields as best as possible. It is important that you review this data for accuracy as you move through the application process.
Step 1 - upload resume or apply with your LInkedIn.com profile
Step 2 - plain text cover letter
Step 3 - attach up to 3 additional documents
Step 4 - general contact information
Step 5 - confirm employment history
Step 6 - confirm education history & credentials
Application complete, you will immediately receive an email with the subject "Thank you for applying to Humber College" that confirms your application has been received. (Note that incomplete applications are discarded.)
* Optional step - some jobs may have additonal questions that immediately follow the application process, known as Talent Qualification Interview (TQI). You must answer each question and do not close your browser until all questions have been submitted.
If you are having trouble with the application process try the following troubleshooting steps
Online application is our preferred method. Please note that you must complete all steps in the process in order for your application to be considered. Be sure to complete all the fields that are marked with an asterisk (*). If you are unable to apply online or require assistance, please contact 416-675-6622 x4393.
For Support Staff position opportunities, internal candidates are defined by Support Collective Agreement (Article 17) as current full time support staff employees.
For Academic position opportunities, internal candidates are defined by the Academic Collective Agreement (Article 27.11B) as current full time professors and partial load professors who have active contracts or who have had contracts within the month previous to the posting
Jobs are posted regularly and we encourage you to check our jobs page often to see what new positions are available. Academic positions are typically posted and filled to coincide with the Academic calendar.
Since every position is different and can have any number of applications, there is no standard time period. Please note that only qualified candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Humber’s online application system is available on any computer with access to the internet. Consult your local public library or employment resource centre to see if computers with internet access are available to the public. Alternatively, please contact HR reception at 416-675-6622 x4393 for assistance.
There are a variety of ways to obtain a free email account. You may wish to visit websites such as iCloud, Gmail, Outlook.com or Yahoo Mail to register for an email account or to obtain more information.
You must apply to a specific job competition in order to be considered for that position.
Applications submitted to a specific job competition will remain tied to that competition in our database.
Once you have submitted your application to a job competition you will no longer have access to it. Proofread and review all of your information before you submit it. If, after applying to a competition, you would like to make changes to your application, you can re-submit an additional application. We will keep the latest submission.
Please provide the answer that most closely matches your situation, as the application must be complete before it will be processed. You may wish to explain or elaborate on your choice in your cover letter.
You will receive an automated email response to confirm that we received your application. Incomplete applications are discarded.
Applications are kept for a minimum of one year.
You may wish to attach additional documents related to your work or educational background. These documents can be .doc, .docx. pdf and .rtf files.
