Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)

The Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) has changed. The new system, WHMIS 2015, has been fully in effect since Dec. 1, 2018, and includes updated hazard classes, new hazard pictograms and new supplier label and safety data sheet requirements. 

Health and Safety Services is offering in-class WHMIS 2015 training sessions that cover all the elements of the new system, as well as how WHMIS is implemented at Humber. This training is mandatory for Humber employees who work with hazardous materials, work in areas where hazardous materials are used, or supervise others who work with or handle hazardous materials.
